FALMOUTH, MA (February 6, 2017)—Twelve non-profit community groups have been awarded a total of $119,300 in grants in the latest semi-annual series of donations by Falmouth Road Race, Inc., the organization has announced.

The grant program was established as a way for Falmouth Road Race, Inc. to give back to the community for its help and support. Each year, Falmouth residents and organizations provide countless hours of volunteering for the New Balance Falmouth Road Race, a world-class event for both elite and recreational runners, as well as for the Aetna Falmouth Elite Mile, the SBLI Family Fun Run, and the Health & Fitness Expo.

“We’re happy to again help our community by giving another round of grants,” said Scott Ghelfi, president of the Falmouth Road Race, Inc. Board of Directors. “Being in a position to support our local non-profit organizations is one of the things that make us most proud as we work to further our mission of promoting health and wellness for everyone, and helping to restore Nobska Light, an iconic landmark along our race course, is an especially fitting addition this year for our 45th running.”

Since fiscal year 2012-2013, Falmouth Road Race, Inc. has contributed more than $1 million to the health and wellness of Falmouth and the surrounding area through Community Giving and Grants.
