Geoff Nickerson Elected President of Falmouth Road Race, Inc.

FALMOUTH, MA (December 12, 2017)—Geoff Nickerson, a member of the Falmouth Road Race., Inc., board of directors since 2011, has been named its new president, the organization announced today. He succeeds Scott Ghelfi, who has served in that role for the past six years.

Nickerson, 39, is a partner at the Falmouth law firm Oppenheim & Nickerson LLP. He is a 2000 graduate of Dartmouth College, where he was co-captain of both the cross country and track and field teams during his senior year, and a 2003 cum laude graduate of Villanova University School of Law. While at Villanova, Nickerson used his remaining eligibility to compete on the track and field team there, as well.

He first ran the New Balance Falmouth Road Race in 2005, and has missed only one year since.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve as president of a non-profit that has such a positive impact on the Town of Falmouth and our surrounding communities,” said Nickerson. “If I can do the job half as well as Scott Ghelfi, I’ll consider my tenure as president to be a success.”

Since 2012, Falmouth Road Race, Inc. has donated more than $1.6 million to Falmouth-area organizations and programs.

In addition to his work with Falmouth Road Race, Inc., Nickerson is vice chairman of the board of the Falmouth Chamber of Commerce; a corporator of the Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod, and a member of the Scholarship Association of Falmouth’s board of directors. He and his wife, Kristin, live in Falmouth with their daughter, Charlotte.
